Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935, that covers almost 42,000 acres.  The park got its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone.  These features are the centerpiece to the park and often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun rays.
