Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dame in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 – 1936 during the great depression as part of the Work Project Administration (WPA). The generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona and California.
The Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tilman Memorial Bridge is an arch bridge that spans the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada, built when the original route was deemed dangerous and inadequate for projected traffic volumes.
