Fire Island is the large center island of the outer barrier islands parallel to the south shore of Long Island. Robert Moses State Park and Fire Island Lighthosue are a must see.  Located on the western part of Fire Island has a nature trail on both sides of the lighthouse, west side is over the sand dunes and east takes you on the beach along the water.
